Dear members
Summer has arrived at last, how lovely it is to finally have sunny weather and go walking without copious layers of clothing. I do hope you are all able to make the most of it.
Below is a brief summary of up-coming events, holidays to look forward to and other information too.
Best Wishes to you all
Paula and the committee.
Social Events
Summer Charity Walk & Social July 2nd.
Please make sure this event is in your diary. Di & Neville have kindly agreed to host this year so we will have two walks on offer that day followed by a delightful lunch in beautiful gardens. We would like it to follow a similar format to last year. Please bring a “dish” of your choice, and along with some extras provided via the committee and a refreshing glass of Pimm’s I’m sure we will have a delightful array of food to share. More details will be sent out in the week beforehand. As this is our annual charity event (The new charities to benefit being the North East Wales Search & Rescue and The Cheshire Wildlife Trust) we would like to suggest a contribution of £5 per person or indeed more if you wish. This can be paid on the day or by bank transfer.
Walk Leader information: Jan
The Sunday walks have been well attended so far this year. The midweek social walks (with lunch!) have been particularly popular, and we will continue to offer these. The next social walks are the charity walks and social mentioned above and Wednesday 6th September.
Welsh Marilyns We have made a good start on the Welsh Marilyns project and lots more is planned! Please access the link for further information
Please let Jan and John know if you intend to join the first Marilyns weekend in Aberystwyth (September 29th to October 1st 2023). John will be setting up a WhatsApp group for those going and will send out a list of possible nearby places to stay.
Provisional plan for 2024:
• Lynn peninsula (Monday to Wednesday) 13-15th May 2024
• September 2024 South Wales possibly in the Abergavenny area – date TBC
