Dear members
The last letter was written whilst snow was falling outside, and this time the sun is shining and everywhere is beautifully fresh and lush with lots of flowers appearing, hurray!

Charity Walk: Sunday July 15th
Our next social event, our annual charity walk will for the second time be followed by a BBQ at Jan & Steve’s.
Once again we will be offering two walks (Green & Blue) which will hopefully cater for everyone. For this walk only the walk fees are £5 with all money raised being donated equally between Cancer Research UK and The Stroke Association.
All BBQ meat / vegetarian offerings will be provided but if you could help by making a salad that would be much appreciated. Please let me know if you intend bringing one along and I can make sure we have a good variety.
Don’t forget to bring a bottle of your favourite drink too. A small additional charge for the BBQ will be made.
Walk Information
Our 4 mid-week early evening walks begin next week and we are pleased to say that lots of people have taken leaflets from the gym and so we are confident they will be well attended. We really hope that these walks will appeal to our current members who have more time available in the week as well as attract new members from OH Club itself. Please look out for the walk briefs which Pauline will be sending out and don’t forget we will be meeting at the start of the walk and not at Old Hall.

Walking Holidays 2018
Spring Walking Weekend: Beddgelert, Snowdonia
13th to 16th April 2018
This first holiday weekend in 2018 was based at Craflwyn Hall and was attended by 27 members. The weather was rather changeable which sadly affected views however the sun did appear each day and we completed some very interesting and at times challenging walks. Although the food was not the best we have experienced most of the rooms were very good and the location excellent.
Summer Holiday: Lake Bled, Slovenia Saturday 23rd
June Saturday 30th June 2018
23 members have booked for our 2018 summer holiday. We will enjoy HF sole occupancy meaning that it will only be members from our club on the two walks each day allowing the walk leaders to tailor them to our level and needs.
Autumn Walking Weekend: Keswick, Lake District.
21st to 24th September 2018
We will be returning to Glaramara hotel where the food is fabulous and the walking spectacular.
Walking Holidays 2019
For our two weekends away the committee has deliberately chosen one location relatively near to home and one further afield; details are below.
Spring 2019
Alnmouth, Northumberland. Nether Grange Country House 26th to 29th April 2019 – we have deposits from 22 members which means we are already above the booked number of people for the hotel.
However Sarah is confident we can have more places available if you let her know quickly.
Summer 2019
We have requested the Hotel Schwefelbad in Schenna, Sud Tyrol, Italy for 22nd to 29th June 2019. We do not have this booking confirmed yet, but Sarah will know soon. Watch out for the email requesting deposits and note the dates may be slightly different from the above. Flights are from Manchester.
Autumn 2019
Dolgellau, South Snowdonia. Dolserau Hall Country House 4th to 7th October 2019 – we have deposits from 17 members which means we have spaces to fill at this venue. Again if you would like to come let Sarah know at any time we would like to have sole occupancy which means we need a few more people.
Wainrights
The first of the three Wainwright weekends away took place last weekend. For those who wish to join in more Red Level walking and are interested in either of the other two weekends below then please contact John Trimble or Howard Cruse for all the latest information. Don’t forget only those members who have expressed particular interest in going are emailed with times/accommodation info etc.
