The Wainwrights Project was started in 2014 with the aim of climbing all Lakeland’s 214 Wainwrights Peaks over a period of 7-8 years via a series of club weekends. Finally completing the project on the 2 July 2022 on, the apptly named peak, Great End.
We held three Wainwrights weekends a year each with two or three challenging walks. Dates for each year were advertised in the Club Newsletters and in the Events section of the Website.
The Wainwrights project was intended to be challenging and the walks frequently include multiple summits with steep and sometimes loose sections. They were typically graded Red or Red+. All club members were welcome to join the weekends .
