Manley Common Circular

A delightful walk-through mixed farmland taking in parts of the Sandstone Trail and Delamere Way, with tea and scones at the Stonehouse Café if desired.

21 August 2022

2 dogs allowed

Do not walk if you are feeling unwell. Carry your own hand sanitiser. In case of an emergency ensure you have with you a face mask and first aid pack.
Inevitably, the route will go through gates and over stiles that other people will have touched. It may have narrow sections that mean you will be passing close to other people.

We begin on the Sandstone Trail travelling W past Stonehouse Café then NNW along the road skirting Simonds’s Hill. The trail then follows an overgrown track along the bottom of Alvanley Cliff to the edge of Foxhill Wood. At this point we leave the Sandstone trail and go SE on an uphill path to join the Delamere Way at Riley Bank. We continue through open farmland and minor roads until we enter Delamere Forest. The track follows the NE edge of the forest and rejoins the Sandstone trail at Manley Common.
