Do not walk if you are feeling unwell. Carry your own hand sanitiser. In case of an emergency ensure you have with you a face mask and first aid pack.
Inevitably, the route will go through gates and over stiles that other people will have touched. It may have narrow sections that mean you will be passing close to other people.
The walk starts at the Layby at the junction of A49 and Huxley lane. We initially proceed down the A49 to the entrance to the former Beeston Auction and follow the footpath around the new housing development, when the progress of the building development can be seen and the complicated structural word necessitated by the sandy terrain. Proceeding along the footpath which takes us eventually to the entrance to Peckforton Castle, we climb to eventually join the Sandstone Trail. We follow the Trail for a short while before ascending to the high point at Waste Hill before descending down to Stone House Lane by the similarly named Farm.
We then walk past Peckforton Moss to join Peckforton Hall Lane and follow the lane towards Beeston Moss, eventually passing Haycroft to again join the A49 at Spurstow before crossing over to briefly walk along Haughton lane before taking the footpath to Bunbury and passing through the centre of the village to end up at the Dysart Arms, where a brief refreshment stop can be contemplated.
We leave the village along College Lane proceeding down to Bunbury Lock where we join the canal towpath returning to Tiverton and or starting point.
Anyone wishing to partake of a cuppa is welcome to join us in the Garden.
The walk affords many views of the Cheshire countryside from differing angles and some areas which are hopefully new to some, although regular walks undertaken personally.
