Covid-19

Do not walk if you are feeling unwell. Carry your own hand sanitiser. In case of an emergency ensure you have with you a face mask and first aid pack.
Inevitably, the route will go through gates and over stiles that other people will have touched. It may have narrow sections that mean you will be passing close to other people.

Starting in Chapel Lane, Milton Green, we first approach Calveley Hall, a once impressive Cheshire farmhouse but now in a very sorry state! We join the Bishop Bennett bridleway and follow this through to Lea Hall, passing through part of the Grosvenor Estate. We then join a tarmacked road leading to Lea Manor Farm, an extensive Dairy unit and then approach the Beachin Stud, home of Cogent, locally known as the ‘Bull Palace’! We proceed, still following the BBW to Beachin Farm and eventually join Spring Lane briefly before taking the path to Highfields Farm. We now approach Coddington along Highfields Lane and after passing through the village take the path to Aldersey Park, the former site of Aldersey Hall. The path leads us to Aldersey Green , where we join the road, eventually taking the bridle path by Aldersey Green Farm which leads us back to our starting point in Milton Green.

Calveley Hall

The walk is a gentle stroll through traditional and modern Cheshire farmland (a few stiles but not many) with extensive views to the surrounding hills and into Wales. Plenty of bird life for those interested and also lots of Sloes for anyone interested in making some Sloe Gin, recipe supplied on request!
